Trade crypto-asset price movements without owning the underlying crypto-asset.
Access selected Crypto-Asset CFDs through the Briana Global trading platform and take positions based on movements in the price of the relevant underlying crypto-asset.
Crypto-Asset CFDs are cash-settled derivative instruments. Trading a Crypto-Asset CFD does not give you ownership, custody, delivery rights or control of the underlying crypto-asset itself.
What is a Crypto-Asset CFD?
A Crypto-Asset CFD is a Contract for Difference whose value is derived from the price movement of an underlying crypto-asset.
Rather than buying, storing or transferring the underlying crypto-asset, you enter a derivative transaction whose value changes in line with movements in the referenced market. Your profit or loss is determined by the difference between the opening and closing value of the CFD, considering the direction of your position, applicable leverage and trading costs.
Crypto-Asset CFDs are offered strictly as derivative products and should not be understood as the purchase or sale of actual crypto-assets.
No Ownership or Crypto Custody
Trading Crypto-Asset CFDs through Briana Global does not create a crypto wallet or give you ownership of the underlying crypto-asset. For trading purposes, Briana Global Limited does not buy, sell, store, transfer or provide custodial wallet services in relation to the underlying crypto-assets.
This means clients are trading the price movement of the derivative rather than acquiring the underlying digital asset.
Crypto Funding Is Separate from Crypto Trading
Where available, crypto-assets may be used to fund or withdraw from a trading account. Such transactions are treated solely as a payment and settlement mechanism and are separate from trading Crypto-Asset CFDs. Crypto-asset deposits and withdrawals may be facilitated by Briana Global or by an authorized third-party payment or crypto-asset processing provider. The use of crypto-assets for account funding does not mean that Briana Global provides crypto exchange, investment custody or wallet services.
Why Crypto Markets Behave Differently
Crypto-asset markets may behave differently from more traditional markets such as equities, foreign exchange or commodities. Underlying crypto-assets can experience:
- Rapid and significant price movements
- Periods of reduced or fragmented liquidity
- Material price differences between trading venues
- Increased sensitivity to market sentiment
- Market activity outside traditional exchange hours
- Sudden changes following regulatory or technical developments
These characteristics can result in increased volatility, wider spreads and greater execution risk when trading Crypto-Asset CFDs.
Continuous Underlying Markets
Certain underlying crypto-asset markets operate continuously, including outside the normal trading hours of traditional financial markets. However, this does not necessarily mean that every Crypto-Asset CFD on the Briana Global platform is available for trading 24/7. The trading hours and availability applicable to each CFD are determined by the relevant instrument specifications and the Platform's execution arrangements.
Clients should therefore review the applicable trading hours before opening or managing a position.
Liquidity & Price Formation
Crypto-asset liquidity is spread across multiple venues rather than concentrated on a single central exchange. As a result, the price of the same underlying crypto-asset can vary between trading venues, particularly during periods of market stress or reduced liquidity. These conditions may affect:
- Quoted prices
- Available spreads
- Slippage
- Order execution
- The ability to open or close a position at the desired price
During abnormal market conditions, available leverage or trading conditions may also be adjusted.
Blockchain & Protocol Events
The value of an underlying crypto-asset may be affected by events specific to the technology or network supporting it. Examples may include:
- Blockchain network congestion
- Protocol upgrades
- Network forks
- Security vulnerabilities
- Exchange or infrastructure outages
- Significant activity by large holders
These events may occur suddenly and can materially affect the price of the underlying crypto-asset and, consequently, the value of the related CFD.
Leveraged Exposure
Crypto-Asset CFDs are leveraged products. Because the underlying markets can already experience significant volatility, the use of leverage may amplify the effect of relatively small price movements on the value of your position.
Applicable leverage and margin requirements may vary according to the instrument, client classification and prevailing market conditions, and may be reduced where volatility or liquidity conditions warrant.
How Orders Are Executed
Briana Global Limited operates as Straight-Through Processing execution model. Crypto-Asset CFD orders placed through the Briana Global platform are transmitted to third-party Liquidity Providers for execution. Briana Global acts as agent and does not act as principal counterparty to Client Transactions.
Execution is therefore dependent on the pricing, liquidity and availability provided by the relevant Liquidity Provider and may be affected by rapidly changing crypto-asset market conditions.
Understand the Risks
Crypto-Asset CFDs combine the risks associated with leveraged CFD trading with the additional volatility and market characteristics of crypto-assets.
Before trading, clients should understand that:
- Significant price changes may occur within very short periods.
- Leverage magnifies both gains and losses.
- Liquidity may decline suddenly.
- Spreads may widen materially.
- Orders may be subject to slippage or delayed execution.
- Regulatory or blockchain-related events may affect the underlying market.
- Past performance is not a reliable indication of future results.
Crypto-Asset CFDs may not be suitable for all clients. Clients should only trade where they understand both how CFDs operate and the risks associated with crypto-asset markets.
CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. You should consider whether you understand how CFDs work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money. Trading Contracts for Difference (CFDs) and Forex involves a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses that exceed your initial deposit. These products may not be suitable for all investors.
